About Her Promise Circle Foundation

We Help People Take Care of Their Health Before Something Becomes a Crisis.

Her Promise Circle Foundation helps people get the support they need to take better care of their health before small issues turn into serious health problems.

We started by serving women. Today, partnerships allow HPC to bring custom programs to more people, workplaces, patients, and communities.

Why This Matters

Too Many Preventable Health Problems Happen Without Enough Support Up Front.

Many people—especially women of color—are not struggling because they lack motivation, but because they lack access to the time, resources, and support needed to build and sustain healthy lifestyles.

At the same time, healthcare systems are under strain, responding to conditions that often could have been prevented or better managed earlier.

of Black women in the U.S. are living with some form of cardiovascular disease.

Chronic disease costs the U.S. healthcare system trillions of dollars each year.

#1

Heart and blood vessel disease is the leading cause of death and hospitalization in DeKalb County, where HPCF is located, with Black residents carrying the highest burden.

A large part of what determines long-term health happens before a hospital visit ever occurs:

Moving our bodies.

Managing stress.

Eating better.

Sleeping well.

Staying connected.

Following care plans.

Chronic disease costs the U.S. healthcare system trillions of dollars each year.

But knowing what to do is not the same as being able to do it consistently. Many people face barriers like time, cost, transportation, caregiving demands, and limited support.

That is the gap HPCF exists to help close.

We Look at the Whole Person

Health is shaped by more than medical care.

Stress affects sleep.

Pain affects movement.

Loneliness affects mental health.

Caregiving affects time and energy.

HPC supports the whole person and the real life around their health—including social and spiritual well-being.

That means supporting a clear mind, a moving body, meaningful connection, emotional balance, and a sense of inner strength that can carry people through difficult seasons.

Spiritual support is available for those who want it, and is always optional.

We Support Healthcare.

We Do Not Replace It.

HPC does not diagnose or treat medical conditions.

We support the everyday actions that protect health before, between, and after traditional healthcare visits.

We also help healthcare organizations extend their impact beyond the appointment—so patients do not just receive information, but have the support to apply it in real life, improving follow-through without adding strain to clinical teams.

Meet Our Founder

Michal Renée Carlock

Founder & Executive Director

Michal spent over a decade working in critical care, often at the bedside with patients in emergency situations. Over time, she saw a consistent pattern: many people only began to engage with their health once they were already in crisis.

She also saw something deeper—most people were not choosing emergency care. They simply did not have the support, resources, or systems needed to prevent reaching that point.

That experience led her to create HPC after seeing the same gap again and again:

People are often told what to do for their health—but not supported in doing it once they leave the clinic.

HPC supports the whole person and the real life around their health—including social and spiritual well-being.
