When you’re caring for a child with different abilities and needs, so much attention naturally goes toward your child—but who is caring for the caregiver?
Join Monochromatic Mommies for an October Community Conversation with Deshombre Samuels, Founder of The Neuromargin Project and owner of The Virtual Experience, for an honest conversation about caregiver well-being, support, and the realities of raising an autistic child while making space for yourself, too.
Drawing from her professional experience, entrepreneurship, and lived experience as an Autism Mom, Deshombre will explore why caregiver well-being deserves intentional attention, not only when we reach burnout, but as an important part of supporting the whole family.
Together, we’ll talk about the needs caregivers carry, the importance of community and practical support, and what it can look like to prioritize your own well-being while continuing to care deeply for your child.
This is a space to learn, connect, reflect, and be reminded that your well-being matters, too.
Meet Deshombre
Deshombre Samuels is the Founder of The Neuromargin Project and owner of The Virtual Experience. Her work is rooted in professional experience, entrepreneurship, and her lived experience as an Autism Mom.
Through her own journey, she recognized how often caregivers’ needs become secondary while families focus on supporting their autistic children. This realization became the foundation for The Neuromargin Project, a South Carolina nonprofit focused specifically on caregivers of autistic children.
Her vision is a future where caregivers have access to the support, resources, and community they need to sustain their own well-being.
Event reminders will be sent to the email used to register.
